So excited!
When we walked off of the plane, Laurie and Hudson were there waiting to take us home. A HUGE thank you to the Kerstetters and Krills for making sure the house was clean and fridge was stocked for us when we walked in! It was so nice to not have to worry about that stuff right away and just work on getting the kids adjusted.
The transition into being "Americans" has been pretty smooth. It is so easy here! I can go into Target and read all of the labels and not have to translate anything, we can order at restaurants, we can understand other peoples conversations. Beckett has had a very easy time. He is a very happy baby (I am going to have to stop calling him a baby soon!) and loves sleep, so I can put him down to bed and he just sleeps until I get him up. Ava took about 2 weeks to get her sleep adjusted. She also thinks our house is too big (she keeps losing me) and she thinks it is too hot here - I agree!
The kids and I spent a couple of days in Grand Rapids and then we headed to Chicago to see my family. I don't think anyone was more excited than Ava. Her cousin Jack is her favorite person ever! We had a great 5 days spending time with family and friends.
"All Aboard"
Beckett was obsessed with the trains!
Date night at "The Head And The Heart" concert
Our time here has been great so far. It almost feels like we haven't been gone for 6 months since we moved right back into our house and started hanging out with friends just like we did before we left. We are excited that we still have 3 weeks to go here!
